Đà Nẵng was my first city in Vietnam, and would be the base camp for making trips to Hội An and Huế. It is the biggest city on the South Central Coast of Vietnam. I did not really explore Đà Nẵng, but this city deserves a mention because I had my first authentic phở and Vietnamese coffee here. Southern Vietnamese eat phở for breakfast, and occasionally lunch, while people in the north eat it any time of the day. The phở here was just deliciously awesome; nothing like what I get in the USA. I’m not exaggerating when I write that starting your day with some hot, lip-smacking phở leaves you with a very satisfying and refreshing feeling.
Authentic Vietnamese coffee, on the other hand, was bitter, bitter and bitter. And no amount of condensed milk would make it drinkable! I hate to admit it, but I’d rather have my cup of Vietnamese coffee back in the USA!
- My first authentic phở… …deliciously awesome!!!
- A typical street… …reminded me of old sections of Mumbai
- Sign outside a coffee shop… …I’m guessing “all characters and designs appearing in this logo are fictitious. Any resemblance to a global coffee company is purely coincidental.”!!
- Thach Quang Pagoda… …saw it from outside so I had to rely on Google Translator
- Lots and lots of two-wheelers here
