Dates visited: October 17, 2003 – October 19, 2003 and August 30, 2013

This was the first of my four I-absolutely-have-to-see waterfalls (Niagara Falls, Iguaçu/ Iguazú Falls, Victoria Falls and Angel Falls) and I couldn’t believe my excitement at being in the presence of this extravagantly magnificent waterfall. Niagara Falls is the collective name for Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls.

My earliest memory of Niagara Falls was in the movie, Superman II, when Superman rescues a young kid from plunging into the falls. That very minute, as a six-year old, I knew I wanted to visit this awesome wonder of the world. I enjoyed every second of my trip and did the Maid of the Mist boat tour right into the bowels of the waterfalls. It was an amazing feeling to get drenched by the heavy mist of the Horseshoe Falls and pose for pictures wearing the quintessential blue ponchos! We also got a bird’s eye view of the falls as we ate in the revolving restaurant in the Skylon Tower (160 metres/520 ft).

I made a second trip 10 years later to show these stunning waterfalls to Rohan. And even on this trip, I remember being just as excited as I had been on my first trip.
