Trogir is a beautiful small town on the Adriatic coast. As we drove from Plitvice Lakes National Park (140 miles total) through the mountainous karst region, I will never forget the first view of the Adriatic sea – it was a downhill road, and as we turned the corner, the sudden blueness of the Adriatic Sea smacked us in the face like a wave. It was a spectacular sight as we drove and watched the blue sea swallow the golden sun.
We lived right in the middle of the town with its narrow cobblestone streets and numerous churches. We loved exploring the Kamerlengo Castle, the Duke’s Palace, the Cathedral of St. Lawrence and walking along the city walls and gates. The intricate carvings on the main portal of the Cathedral of St. Lawrence were sculpted by Radovan, and my favorite work was Adam and Eve, standing on the backs of two lions.
