Switzerland is where it all started—my passion for traveling. It was the first country I visited for a vacation. Even though USA was the first country where I travelled, the reason to come to USA was for getting a Masters degree. So technically, I wasn’t in the USA for a vacation… …and my Masters program reminded me that every single day! But back to Switzerland… …this is where Prachi and I came for our honeymoon after a short wedding in India, and Wengen was the quintessential picturesque Swiss village.
This car-free village was just perfect to spend some quite quality time together as we explored the pretty village on foot. Our chalet was beautifully decorated with great attention to details—it was cozy and inviting. The chalet was surrounded by the snow-clad Bernese Alps, and the scenery all around it was just marvelous. Our breakfast consisted of tea and bread served with different varieties of cheese on the side. The daily walk from our chalet to the main village was energizing as we took in the fresh unadulterated air. The shops were pretty and the locals were very friendly.
Wengen was a nice little quaint village to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and explore the stunning scenery of the Bernese Oberland.
